The Community Liver Health Checks (CLHC) team recently partnered with the Criminal Justice and Health and Wellbeing Teams at Forward Leeds to deliver a joint health event at Carr Beck Hostel in Middleton, Leeds. This collaborative initiative aimed to raise health awareness and support both residents and staff in improving their overall wellbeing.
Attendees were offered Fibroscan assessments a quick, non-invasive way to check liver health alongside tailored advice on liver care and reducing risk factors for liver disease.
In addition to the liver health checks, the event featured a health education session on sleep hygiene, exploring practical ways to improve sleep quality, manage stress, and establish healthy bedtime routines the key components of maintaining both physical and mental wellbeing.
The event was a clear success, warmly received by residents and staff. It enabled open conversations around health, lifestyle, and prevention, and highlighted the value of multi-disciplinary teams’ collaboration in delivering accessible and effective health interventions within the community.
This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of people across Leeds, ensuring that services are inclusive, preventative, and responsive to community needs.
