Recovery Steps Calderdale, part of Waythrough, is celebrating after successfully revalidating its Hepatitis C micro-elimination status for the third year running. This fantastic achievement recognises the team’s ongoing commitment to finding, testing and supporting people affected by Hepatitis C across Calderdale, helping more people access timely treatment and care.
Recovery Steps Calderdale was the first drug service in West Yorkshire to achieve micro-elimination, and this latest revalidation is a proud milestone that reflects the dedication, consistency and partnership working behind the service’s continued success.
Debbie Moores, Hepatitis C National Co Ordinator, Waythrough said, “Achieving a World-Cup-worthy hat-trick, Calderdale Recovery Steps has sustained Hepatitis C elimination for three years thanks to the unwavering dedication of our staff and partners.”
The achievement has been made possible through strong collaboration with Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, The Hepatitis C Trust and the Operational Delivery Network, alongside vital support from Waythrough Hepatitis C Coordinators and local Hepatitis C Champions.
Together, these teams are making a real and lasting difference to the health and wellbeing of communities across Calderdale and helping drive progress towards eliminating Hepatitis C as a public health threat.
