We are proud to announce that Waythrough’s three West Yorkshire services, New Vision Bradford, Forward Leeds, and Recovery Steps Calderdale have officially achieved micro-elimination of Hepatitis C.
This milestone marks a major regional success in reducing harm, improving health outcomes, and ensuring safer environments for people who use drugs across West Yorkshire.
Over the few past years, teams across the three services have worked intensively to expand Hepatitis C testing, support individuals through treatment pathways, and remove barriers to care. As a result, each service has met all four Hepatitis C elimination criteria.
Forward Leeds has now revalidated its elimination status for the second time, and Recovery Steps Calderdale has successfully revalidated for the third time, demonstrating sustained commitment to Hepatitis C prevention and long-term harm reduction.
The ODN would like to congratulate the teams across Waythrough’s West Yorkshire services. This achievement reflects a collective effort, with leadership, service coordination, dedication and compassionate frontline care all playing a vital role in making micro-elimination possible.
Waythrough’s success across Bradford, Leeds, and Calderdale represents a significant step forward in Hepatitis C prevention and care, changing lives and strengthening the future of harm reduction across West Yorkshire.
