Congratulations to Dr Ian Rowe who will take up a three-year term as President of the British Association for the Study of the Liver (BASL) from October 2025. BASL is the UK’s leading professional society for hepatology, bringing together the British Liver Transplant Group, the British Liver Nurses Association and others to advance liver health.
The organisation plays a key role in education, research, and influencing national policy. This is fantastic recognition of Ian’s leadership and expertise – a great achievement for him and for our Trust. We wish him every success in this important national role.
Dr Ian Rowe’s Support for Liver Health in West Yorkshire
Dr Rowe has been a valued supporter of West Yorkshire’s Community Liver Health Checks (CLHC) project. His clinical advice has helped shape key elements of the programme, including referral pathways, data interpretation, and diagnostic approaches. He has also supported important conversations around improving access and promoting early detection.
We’re grateful for his input and proud to see his work recognised nationally. His new role will help strengthen liver health services across the UK including here in West Yorkshire.
