West Yorkshire Liver Care ODN recently held a highly successful Community Liver Health Check (CLHC) event at Beeston Village Community Centre, supporting the local Chinese community in partnership with Health for All.
The session was warmly received, with strong engagement from attendees and invaluable assistance from the Health for All team. Their staff and volunteers provided interpretation for participants whose first language was not English, ensuring that language was never a barrier and that everyone felt comfortable, informed, and able to take part fully in the health checks.
The welcoming and inclusive atmosphere made a real difference, helping to build trust and encourage participation. Thanks to this collaborative effort, the CLHC and The Hepatitis C Trust Peer Support teams were able to deliver:
- 18 liver scans
- 25 Hepatitis C tests
- 25 Hepatitis B tests
These checks are vital for early identification of liver conditions, often before symptoms appear, and for connecting people with appropriate care and support.

The success of this event highlights the power of partnership between healthcare teams and trusted community organisations. West Yorkshire Liver Care ODN is pleased to confirm that further outreach visits are already being planned with the CLHC team and The Hepatitis C Trust, continuing this important work to improve liver health across local communities.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone at Health for All and Beeston Village Community Centre for their support, hospitality, and commitment to improving community health.
