As part of World Hepatitis (17–24 November 2025), West Yorkshire Liver Care ODN partnered with Calderdale Recovery Steps and The Hepatitis C Trust to deliver a targeted Blood Borne Virus (BBV) testing and needle exchange event in Sowerby Bridge.
Hosted from the ODN’s mobile clinic vehicle known as ‘O’liver’ on 18 November, the event offered confidential testing, harm reduction advice, and needle exchange services. Local pharmacies and community venues helped promote the initiative, with their clients encouraged to attend.
Although poor weather affected turnout, the event highlighted the value of mobile outreach in areas with limited Needle and Syringe Programme (NSP) access. This model can be replicated across West Yorkshire to improve equity, reduce transmission, and support recovery.
