The Leeds Fast-Track Cities Community Grants Programme is a joint initiative between Leeds City Council and Yorkshire MESMAC, launched in February 2024.
These grants are designed to empower local communities to tackle stigma and discrimination related to these conditions, centring the experiences of and amplifying the voices and stories of those with lived experience.
MESMAC are awarding micro grants of up to £1500 to groups in the Leeds area to express their experiences of stigma and discrimination, and its impacts on people living with HIV, TB, Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C, or the effects stigma has on at-risk groups.
We want you to take the lead in starting the conversation around stigma. Storytelling and conversations at community level take many forms. Your ideas could be art, radio, a blog, creative writing, a community project, or something we have not thought of yet. Stigma can only end with honest, real conversation and stories that stem from our communities. It starts with your experiences, stories, creativity, and power to make the change.
